MPILO Central Hospital of Bulawayo yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Everlasting Gospel Church International.
Under the agreement the Everlasting Gospel Church International will adopt Mpilo Central Hospital’s B1, a female orthopaedic ward which it will renovate.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mpilo Central Hospital chief executive officer Dr Lawrence Mantiziba praised the church for responding to the hospital’s open day partnership call to rehabilitate the health institution.
“In the agreement Everlasting Gospel Church International shall adopt Ward B1, renovate it as well as supply new linen. This is not only a costly task but one that needs empathy and dedication,” said Dr Mantiziba.
He said the hospital would continue to strive to be the centre of excellence in health care delivery and therefore appreciated the assistance from partners.
“Their action displays a powered community driven partnership which will result in improvement of our health service delivery,” said Dr Mantiziba.
Everlasting Gospel Church International representative Reverend Farayi Madiro said the MoU was the church‘s efforts to reach out to the community.
“God has heard the hospital’s humble cry and I believe more churches, organisations and the community will come on board and restore Mpilo Central Hospital to what it used to be,” said Rev Madiro.
