Fresh from winning three accolades at the Clima Africa Awards held recently in Nigeria, Gospel sensation Everton Mlalazi feels motivated as they are billed to perform with Spirit of Praise (SOP) in Bulawayo on 13 October.

Mlalazi, who recently joined the South Africa-based gospel outfit will make an appearance for the first time in his mother city as part of the ensemble and they are expected to bless the masses with praise and worship at Harvest House International Conference Centre.

Led by the legendary Bishop Benjamin Dube, artistes who will exchange the mic in Psalms will be Mlalazi, Canaan Nyathi, Dumi Mkokstad, Omega, Mmatema, Mpumi Mstweni, Takie Ndou as well as Sindi Ntombela.

The event will be ground breaking and a milestone for the Harvest House church as it will be the first massive Gospel entertainment event to be held at the US$42 million Conference Centre, which opened last year – with a capacity of holding 10 500 people.

This is a must attend gig, particularly to Gospel music lovers as the much-anticipated event will see SOP belting out songs from their latest album released in September, recorded at Sun Bet Arena, Time Square, Pretoria, South Africa on May 25.

Mlalazi acknowledged his triumph at the Clima awards and credited the win to God who blessed him with the singing talent, which he uses to preach the Gospel.

“Firstly, I want to thank the Lord Almighty for opening doors and opportunities for my ministry and music to be played in Nigeria and find recognition there. I am really humbled by the recognition.

“Since we took our music to Nigeria, they have fallen in love with it and have also started following other artistes from Zimbabwe such as Dorcas Moyo who also won an award,” said Mlalazi.

He said he is super excited to be associated with SOP and promised an unforgettable experience to those who will attend the gig.

“I am thrilled and humbled at the same time to be in the Spirit of Praise. Learning from the best – Bishop Benjamin Dube, Dumi, Omega, Mmatema, Taki Ndou, Canaan, is exciting yet humbling. God has been good to me and my ministry.

“As we come to Bulawayo, the session promises to be exciting, as we will have an amazing time in the Lord. Spirit of Praise don’t give concerts or shows but they give a worship experience like no other. I will definitely do music from the SOP 10 and also do something extra, they know and love,” said Mlalazi.
