Multi-award-winning Gospel musician Everton Mlalazi is starting the new year on a high note as he will be releasing his much-anticipated 14-track album titled Great God tomorrow.

The album was recorded live last year, on September 14, at the City Sports Centre in Harare and it features songs of praise, worship, hope, as well as revival and the importance of connecting with God.

Songs part of the album are Muri Mutsvene featuring Mzansi Gospel muso Oncemore Six, Great God featuring Moses Bliss, Munondida Ndakadaro, Ngaavongwe, Zuva Rangu featuring Takesure Zamar Ncube, Flying High, Ekhaya, Baba Ndiri Mwana Wenyu featuring Harare MUMC Choir, Vabvuwi, Ndinoda Kuona, Igazi Lemvana, Ndichamira, Makabongwe and Gwayana.

Mlalazi revealed that the entire project was crafted with immense hard work, guided by the scripture from Colossians 3, verse 23, which reads, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

“Behind every song on this project is prayer, sacrifice, and relentless pursuit of God’s presence. As we were in the trenches building this album, pouring our hearts out, we put all the trust in God to breathe life into every sound and element of the project. I feature some of my brothers in ministry including Takesure, Oncemore Six, Moses Bliss as well as the Harare MUMC Choir, as they all blended well with the trajectory of the album. This is more than music, it’s worship, testimony, and obedience,” said Mlalazi.

Mlalazi had a successful year in 2025. He achieved unprecedented musical success, solidifying his status as a leading figure in African gospel music. His year was characterised by major international awards and high-profile collaborations.

As a way of retracing his roots, the Tsholotsho-born muso established the annually held Ekhaya Worship Festival, which was held in Bulawayo in May. As if that was not enough, he dominated the CLIMA Africa awards which were held in Sandton, South Africa, on October 5, as he won three awards including Best Live Recording, for the track Great Is Thy Faithfulness featuring The Vine.

He also won the Best Collaboration of the Year award courtesy of the song Glory to His Name, featuring American gospel singer VaShawn Mitchell, as well as the Music Impact accolade in recognition of his influence and contribution to Gospel music across the continent.

He was also bestowed with an Honorary Doctorate in Music at the same event.
At the Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) which were held in December, Mlalazi was honoured with an Outstanding Ambassador (Worldwide) award, for his works of taking the Gospel to all corners of the world.

“It’s an honour that even after travelling the world pushing the ministry, your efforts are still recognised at home. Ekhaya is a place where one must feel appreciated, and winning this award means a lot to me, as it is a reflection of my hard work,” said Mlalazi on the side-lines of the BAAs.
