A HARARE man has been dragged to court after trying to evict his aunt from his house.

Tariro Mangwiro has since applied for a protection order against her nephew, Darlington Mangwiro.

Darlington is believed to have inherited the house from his mother and was no longer comfortable staying with his aunt.

“I am financially unstable and that’s why I asked Darlington if he can accommodate me and he accepted.

“Darlington is now taking advantage of my poverty, and calls me a prostitute. He now says he can no longer stay with me.

“He threatened to remove the roof of the house I am occupying to make sure I move out,” she said.

In his defence, Darlington said he could no longer stay with his aunt because she abuses him verbally and emotionally.

“I am actually surprised to be dragged here for a protection order when I am taking care of her.

“Ever since auntie moved in, I have never known peace in my house and I want her to leave,” he said.

Magistrate Rutendo Machingura granted the aunt the protection order.
