Meet Prosper: A Towering Young Striker

It is surprising that at this point no top flight team has gone for Prosper Msamanyada’s signature.

The 22-year-old was one of the most prolific strikers at junior level.

He played for FMSA Umguza and Bantu Rovers which is well known for having produced top players who went on to conquer football local and abroad.

The 1,9-metre tall Nketa-bred attacker possesses a rare physical presence, which makes it easy for him to also take on physical defenders.

He scored 27 goals for FMSA in his last season at junior level, the most at his team. He then joined Highlanders developmental side Bosso90 in 2021 up to the end of last season.

“At Highlanders I learnt a lot and also from the first team as they would engage with the players from development as we would play friendly matches and train with them on a regular basis”, Msamanyada said.

He was also part of the Bosso90 squad that travelled to South Africa for the Orlando Pirates Cup, a tournament in which they finished as runners-up.

“It was a good experience for me and the team to be able to travel and play not only to add numbers, but also to compete, hence we finished as runners-up”, he also said.

He is unattached since leaving Bosso90.

Msamanyanda appears to have what many clubs do not have in their ranks, a big and effective striker who keeps defenders awake all afternoon.
