Ex-cop goes on housebreaking spree

A FORMER police officer has appeared in court for breaking into three houses belonging to friends and relatives and stealing cash and property. Wisdom Ndlovu, 19, who was stationed Nkulumane Police Station, appeared before magistrate Sibongile Msipa-Marondedze charged with unlawful entry and theft. He was not asked to plead and remanded in custody to June 23.

Prosecuting, Mufaro Mageza said on May 2 this year at around 9PM, Prosper Masuku left Ndlovu in his house watching a movie on his laptop.

“At around 11 PM, Masuku returned home and discovered that Ndlovu had left the house and his laptop, charger and an iphone had been stolen,” said Mageza

He said Ndlovu also took $300 and Masuku’s satchel.

Mageza said on June 5 and while at his aunt’s house in Emganwini suburb, Ndlovu went into a spare bedroom and took R4,000 and $600 which was in Thubelihle Moyo’s purse.

He left $50 on the sitting room window before fleeing the scene.

Mageza said on June 9, Ndlovu proceeded to a house in Pumula South and stole $460.
