Ex-footballer releases second album

Spurred to work hard and improve his projects, Nhika’s latest offering also features renowned artistes  like Jonathan Mugazi, Norman Tapambwa of the “Ziso” fame and Pastor Haisa.
Nhika said although he was not born as a musician, God has helped him to become one.
“I did not start off as a musician but I was a footballer. I played football for Black Rhinos from 1997-2001 and I only quit playing after I sustained serious ankle and knee injuries,” said Nhika.
“I used to find it difficult composing songs but now I’m more at ease because it is gospel music and I think God for putting me in this place where I belong. My aim is to preach His (God) word to the people through music,” he said.
Nhika said he wants to grow as a gospel musician and believes that his two albums are not only didactic, but are also inspiring.
“I am not going back but want to go forward with my music,” said Nhika.
He is already planning on holding lives shows to promote his latest album.
However, his endeavours to grow his brand have not been without inhibitions, with financial constraints being the major one.
“Financial hindrances are always a burden as we try to make ends meet in the sector.
“I was supposed to launch this album in July, but failed because I did not have money,” he said.
He, however, has expresses his gratitude to individuals who have helped make his music career a success.
“It was so difficult to make a breakthrough but a number of people came to my rescue and assisted me in different ways,” he said.
The 32-year-old singer, who draws his inspiration from the Charambas, is currently studying theology with Living Waters Theological Seminary.
