A Harare man was yesterday granted a protection order against his ex-girlfriend who has a habit of assaulting him.
Harare magistrate Ms Tamara Chibindi granted the order in default to Ian Mushayamombe who dragged Albertina Bangure to the Harare Civil Court.
She was ordered not to assault or threaten him physically and was barred from visiting him at his house or workplace.
Mushayamombe told the court he had endured abuse at the hands of his former lover.
“We separated three months ago and since then I have never experienced peace in my life,” he said. “She is very violent, she insults and harrases me. She destroyed my phones on numerous occasions.”
Mr Mushayamombe alleged that recently, she stoned him on the forehead and in another separate occasion, Bangure jumped into his car when she saw his car passing, claiming compensation for breaking ties with her.
“With her behaviour I am now afraid that one day I might hurt her because of what she is doing,” he said. “She is ungrateful despite the fact that I helped financially to start a chicken project.
“I also moved from where I was staying, but because she knew where my children study, she followed them from school to see where I am residing.”
