A bitter ex-husband has been hauled to court accused of physical and verbal abuse.

Letwin Marose told the court that her ex husband, Edwin Nhongo, harasses her and wants him to pay the medical bills since he injured her on the chest.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the protection order.

“On the 1st of April, he beat me up. Now my chest hurts, l want him to pay for my treatment and take care of our child as well.

“He is a violent man and locks my daughter and myself in the house with no food accusing us of stealing his money,” she said.

Edward denied the accusations saying he was the one who was being assaulted.

“She is the one who sends her brother to assault me with a bottle and l never retaliates because I respect him as my brother-in-inlaw.

“I left home on the 1st of April and never went back but she refuses to give me my national I.D,” he said.
