Ex-Miss Byo elevated

In an interview, ZTA chief executive officer Karikoga Kaseke confirmed the appointment of Gori as the new marketing executive for Masvingo province.
“When we adopted these girls we promised to give them jobs soon after completing their attachment with our organisation and a position has just arisen in Masvingo and we decided to give it to Gori,” he said.

Kaseke said Gori would be relocating to Masvingo as his organisation did not have a similar vacancy in Bulawayo where she was based since 2011.
“We are going to be posting Gori to Masvingo, that is where the vacancy has arisen and she will be working like any other ZTA employee,” he said.
Kaseke said Gori will market tourist destinations like the Great Zimbabwe in that city.

“Gori showed marketing skills during her attachment and we are deploying her to join our Masvingo branch and we hope she will add value to the organisation,” he said.

Kaseke said Gori will be applying what she learnt during her attachment. They hope she will enjoy her job.
“We want to improve the number of tourists that we get per month countrywide and this can only be achieved by marketing the country properly,” he said.
Saturday Leisure spoke to Gori who could not hide her excitement with her new job.

“I am really excited with the new job that I have been offered in Masvingo,” she said.
Gori said she is going to work very hard in marketing that province so that it can compete with other tourist destinations in Zimbabwe.

“I gained a lot of experience during my attachment and I can not wait to apply it,” she said.
Gori said she was happy she was relocating to Masvingo but it was going to be a challenge as she would be leaving her family behind to establish herself in that city.

“I am going to work very hard, but leaving my family in Bulawayo is going to be one of the greatest challenges that I will face,” she said.
