CHIREDZI-based musician and former soldier, Josefa Chauke, fondly known as Papa Tsongo, has released a Tsonga/Shangaan six-track album titled Ntwanano Volume 2 – Direction.

The project is his second after he left an army musical outfit, 4 Lions Band. The album comprises marhula genre songs namely Byeriwa Utwa, Great Mama, Mangedyani, Monica, Dzunise and Nikatekise. Marhula is a type of music, which originates from Mozambique.

The 42 year-old artiste, who is now working at Tongaat Hulett at Hippo Valley Estate, is happy with rave reviews his songs received particularly on National FM where the plug track Monica was voted number 24 on the station’s end of year Top 50 chart.

“Monica is a Swahili track which encourages a woman to love and respect her bridegroom and his parents who committed themselves to a relationship by paying pride price (lobola).

“We are shooting videos for all the songs. We will so hold live shows to promote our music,” he said.
