Former Suluman Chimbetu publicist, Joe Local, is set to unveil his second album titled Kuseri Kwacho at Red Café in Harare tomorrow.
The seven-track album was recorded and produced by renowned and versatile guitarist Norman Tapambwa at Live Sound Studios International.
Tracks on the album include “Yave”, “Ndarova Smart”, “Peter Ndlovu”, “Makomo”, “Ndafara Chose”, “Kudendera” and “Mhoroyi”.
Joe Local, whose real name is Johanne Nyamungoma, said the event will be graced by fellow musicians, music promoters and other stakeholders in music and performing arts sector.
“This is my second album having recorded my debut album about seven years ago. I have been working on ‘Kuseri Kwacho’ for months and it is ready for release,” he said.
“I am happy that the project is finally here. It was not an easy task coming up with a project that I hope will win the hearts of music lovers. Known for stirring Sulu’s public relations department for years, Joe Local has decided to come up with another project as part of showcasing his versatility in the showbiz.
“He (Sulu) knows about the project and he will be part of the guests at the launch. I have his blessings,” he said.
His first attempt, Mhoroyi Mhoroyi, which was released in 2010 carried the hit song Musarove Madzimai.
The song enjoyed airplay on radio stations like Radio Zimbabwe and National FM. “The response to my debut album back in 2010 was overwhelming but I just decided to take another route since it all had to do with showbiz.
“Now I have decided to come up with another album which we will be launching on Wednesday (tomorrow) at the Red Cafe,” said Joe Local.
Before joining the Orchestra Dendera Kings in 2011, Joe Local worked with the late Prince Tendai, one of the early movers of the urban grooves music in the country.
