Ex-wife’s application dismissed

A CITY woman hauled her ex-husband to the Civil Court seeking a peace order for alleged physical abuse.

However, her application was dismissed for lack of evidence.

Presiding magistrate, Rutendo Machingura, did not grant a peace order to Audrey Kanyemba against her ex-husband, Blessing Changara.

She failed to prove her physical abuse claims.

“He is my ex-husband, we stayed together for 10 years.

“On August 23, he came to my place of residence to assault me.

“I reported him to the police and we went to court and he was found guilty.

“As l speak, he is doing community service,” said Audrey.

She added:

“We both moved on, l am now married and he now has a wife.

“His relatives are now influencing him to claim my pregnancy, saying it’s his, yet we separated 10 months ago.

“l want him to stop breaching my peace and to share the property equally,” she said.

Blessing denied all the allegations.

“Your Worship, these are false allegations.

“During our marriage, she was having extramarital affairs, which caused us to separate.

“She is claiming property in a violent way.

“I have no problem if she comes in peace.

“I am shocked with the allegations because I last saw her at court.

“I want the court to stop her from coming to my house,” said Blessing.
