achievements in a short space of time that he has been with the Bambo Shingirai Tapomwa-led outfit.
He revealed that he now cruises in a brand new Toyota Corolla apart from other properties.
“I am happy with the working relations at my new group (Unity Stars). The group is well organised in terms of management, instruments, transport and even the salaries are good.
“Although I can’t tell you the things that I have achieved within the short space of time that I have been with Unity Stars, I can’t complain.
“Now I am driving a Toyota Corolla which I bought after joining this new band three months ago,” said the down-to-earth guitarist-cum-dancer and backing vocalist.
“My life has improved for the better since I joined Unity Stars. I played with Madzibaba (Nicholas Zakaria) for 14 years and I am the one who replaced Alick Macheso when he left the Khiama Boys to form his own band, Orchestra Mberikwazvo.
“I don’t have anything against Madzibaba, he is like a brother and a big mentor to me because I gained a lot in terms of experience and popularity when I was with him.
“I toured countries like Mozambique, Botswana, Malawi and South Africa with the Khiama Boys while at Unity Stars the set-up is different in a way that Bambo Tapomwa has the resources to run the band and he is also kind-hearted.”
But, how did he hook up with Bambo Tapomwa?
Nasho said he was introuduced to the affable singer by two of his colleagues in the music industry – Thomas Dasinto and Gift Sixpence – after he faced trransport problems carrying the body of his late brother, sometime last year.
“He (Tapomwa) assisted me when my brother passed away last year.
“My friends, Dasinto and Six-pence, referred me to Bambo Tapomwa who then assisted me with transport to ferry my brother’s body and also played a big role during the funeral arrangements. I was later to join his group,” said Nasho.
He is currently working with Dasinto (on drums) and Sixpence (guitar) at Unity Stars.
Born on June 10, 1976 in
Chitungwiza, Nasho is married to Tendai and the couple has five children – Rachel, Hazel, Denzel, Nashel and Nigel. He is regarded as one of the country’s most gifted bass guitarists.
