EXCITING winger Callum English-Brown has ended speculation around his career by committing his future to Castle Lager Premier Soccer giants Dynamos after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.
The talented former Zimbabwe youth international recently returned to Zimbabwe following a stint in the United Kingdom, where he featured for lower league teams.
Upon his arrival back home, the Legends Football Academy alumni had been initially linked with a move to 2024 Premiership champions Simba Bhora but that deal ultimately collapsed due to some complications.
English-Brown, who has previously seen duty in the elite league with Herentals, Harare City, WhaWha and Chicken Inn has since been training with Dynamos and has now secured a two-year deal amid indications that he will soon be officially unveiled by the club.
He was an unused substitute as Dynamos played against Highlanders in a Jairos Jiri Charity Cup match, which was also part of both giants’ on-going 2026 preparations. Bosso edged their old rivals 1-0 in that Charity match at Barbourfields on Sunday.
The arrival of English-Brown to Dynamos brings with it some nostalgia of some of the white players who rocked the domestic game.
These include yesteryear stars like the legendary Bruce Grobbelaar, Mark Watson, Grahame Boyle, Duncan Ellison and Ryan Harrison.
However, what makes English-Brown’s case special is he becomes the first white player for DeMbare since Independence in 1980.
Dynamos have been on a rebuilding exercise having lost a number of players whose contracts expired on December 31, 2025 and a source close to the goings-on at the club revealed that the player has successfully won over the hearts of the coaching staff.
“He is now a Dynamos player. We understand that he is set to sign for two years,” the source said. “The delay in finalising the deal was because he has been assessed by the coach, who wanted to be sure that he is committed to fighting for the team.
“This is despite the technical team already believing in his abilities and technical prowess.
“There were also some fitness concerns, which reportedly delayed his signature on the contract. However, all is now set, and he is about to be officially announced as a Dynamos player.”
Dynamos have already announced the signings of veteran Perfect Chikwende, and Collins Mujuru who joined from relegated GreenFuel, Mandla Mlilo and Anotida Gwatidzo secured from demoted Yadah Stars and winger Witness Shave who was lured from Triangle United.
They have also acquired the foreign duo of Isaac Landu and Stanley Billiat.
