GENESIS Mangombe has quit Dynamos. Following a 1-1 draw with Bulawayo Chiefs, club bosses are said to have been infuriated and called for a no holds barred meeting.
Sources say the coach was fired but it was agreed that they say he resigned. In a midnight statement, the Caf Confederations Cup representatives chairman Moses Maunganidze said Mangombe resigned and that Loyd ‘Mablanyo’ Chigowe will be in charge of the team.
“We wish to advise all our stakeholders that the club has gracefully accepted the resignation of Genesis Mangombe as head coach of Dynamos football club with immediate effect. We want to thank Mr Mangombe for the services he rendered to the club and for all the achievements that the club attained during his tenure,” said Maunganidze.
Mangombe, replaced Herbert Maruwa last year and won the Chibuku Super Cup. Dynamos have struggled in the league race.
