ZANU-PF’s First Secretary, President Mugabe, yesterday called for an Extraordinary Politburo at the party’s headquarters today. The announcement was made by party national chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo. “All Politburo members are advised that the President and First Secretary, Cde R. G. Mugabe, has called for an Extraordinary Politburo meeting to be held at Zanu-PF headquarters on Friday 14 February 2014 at 10am. All Politburo members should attend without fail,” said Cde Khaya Moyo in a statement.
He could not disclose the agenda.
“That meeting has been called for by the President and he will tell us the agenda when we meet,” he said.
The meeting comes when the country is seized with a number of pressing issues.
There have been widespread reports in the media of alleged corruption in State-linked firms.
Further, thousands of families countrywide have been affected by flooding following incessant rains in recent weeks.
President Mugabe has declared the flooding a state of disaster.
