FALLY Ipupa Jnr scored the winning penalty as PAN JAP secured a 6-5 win over Young Stars FC of Gutu in a social football match at the weekend.
The hosts’ goalkeeper Brighton Ushendibaba saved the visitors’ last penalty.
The game had ended goalless in regulation time, but they wanted a winner in the end
Pan Jap are home to many former footballers, who made it big in the local Premiership and abroad. Thomas Sweswe, Dumisani Mpofu, Ruben Mhlanga and David Sengu, among others, are the famous former players who now turn out for PAN Jap.
Speaking after the game, PAN Jap coach, Zondai Nyaungwa, a former Dynamos goalkeeper, said they had a good and enjoyable game.
“The game was going to be difficult at one point as the other team had youths who had the energy to run the entire game.
“However, you know my guys are full of experience. We managed to get the result because of experience.
“I was also missing the services of Francis Kapula and Ashley Rambanapasi.
“Francis was out with a hamstring injury. They are regulars in our squad and their absence was felt.”
He added:
“We also managed to sit down with the boys and give them some lectures on a number of factors which affect their daily lives and how to remain disciplined in whatever they do.”
