FAMILY'S JOY, HEARTBREAK

THANDOLWENKOSI Ngwenya’s mother, Silibaziso Bhebhe revealed they learnt from their mistake when they blocked his brother, Dumisani, from pursuing his dream.

She was at Mandava cheering Thando’s FC Platinum for winning the Castle Challenge Cup on Saturday.

The player’s father, Antony, was also there.

Bhebhe told H-Metro that Dumisani, who is now a graduate, was more talented than Thando by a considerable distance.

Thando finished as the club’s second top goal scorer, after netting 10 times.

He was a bright student who did his A’ Levels at Guinea Fowl High before putting everything on hold for his football dream.

“He was really good at school but the thought of forcing him to further his studies never came because we had learnt from his brother,” said Bhebhe.

“His brother was very talented and was even better than him but it’s very unfortunate that we thought he was not going to make it and forced him to go to University.

“It was really unfair for him and after realising that Thando was heading on the same path, we decided to let him find out for himself and we thank God that it has turned out well for him.”

She added.

“I’m happy for him that he is now living his dream and it has always been his wish to be the person he is today.

“And, it’s even great that everything he planned for his life is going just the way he scripted.

“We are really looking forward to seeing him reaching greater heights.”

What upsets Bhebhe the most is that Dumisani is now job-hunting while Thando is making waves in the local football circles.
