Fan smuggles pig into Gabba

BRISBANE. – An Australian spectator smuggled a pig into the Gabba on the first day of the Ashes series yesterday.
The pig was allegedly smuggled in using a pram to disguise it as a baby.The pig was taken to the RSPCA to be treated for dehydration and the man to a nearby police station to be charged with animal cruelty                  offences.

The ludicrous scenes echo those at the same ground back in 1983 when a pig with the names “Botham” and “Eddie” painted on to it was smuggled in and released on to the outfield.

The gesture in 1982 was aimed at touring England duo Sir Ian Botham and Eddie Hemmings.

It is unclear whether the pig in question this time around had Stuart Broad’s name painted on it.
