FOOTBALL fans have tipped CAPS United to emerge victorious in this afternoon’s highly anticipated Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash against reigning champions Scottland at the National Sports Stadium.

The confidence in the Green Machine was reflected in a poll conducted by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) on its official WhatsApp Channel ahead of the blockbuster encounter.

As of 11:15am, 464 supporters had predicted a Caps United victory, significantly outnumbering the 170 voters who backed Scottland to collect maximum points. A further 122 fans believed the match would end in a draw.

The poll results provide an interesting insight into supporters’ expectations heading into one of the season’s biggest fixtures, with CAPS United enjoying widespread backing following their impressive performances that have seen them rise to the summit of the league table.

The Harare giants have been one of the standout teams this season and will be looking to strengthen their position at the top against a Scottland side determined to prove their championship credentials.

For Scottland, the clash presents an opportunity to close the gap on the pacesetters and remind the football fraternity why they are the defending league champions.

While the poll suggests that many fans expect Caps United to prevail, history has shown that football matches are not won on social media platforms or opinion polls.

Both teams possess quality players capable of influencing the outcome, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling contest at the renovated National Sports Stadium.

With thousands of supporters expected to fill the stands, the spotlight will firmly be on the players as they seek to turn expectations into reality.

Ultimately, the final verdict will not come from WhatsApp votes but from the action on the pitch when the referee blows the final whistle this afternoon.
