LAGOS. – Fans are posting tributes on social media after the death of Ada Ameh was announced yesterday.
Multiple reports say the 48-year-old veteran actor and comedian died in a hospital in Delta state.
President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, who confirmed her death to the BBC, said the cause was unknown.
Mrs Ameh was famous for her role in the popular long-running sitcom, The Johnsons, where she played the role of an affable housewife.
One fan described her death as “painful”:
Some still cannot believe she is dead, with another fan saying she brought him “joy” in the sitcom.
Two years ago, Mrs Ameh lost her 32-year-old daughter after surgery and spoke about how she battled depression in many videos she posted on her social media pages.
In one interview, she revealed her greatest regret was allowing her daughter out of sight and the pains of dealing with the loss. – BBC.
