The Chris Martin concert at Glamis Arena on Friday is a typical example of an event for “giving fans more for less” and it rarely happens at shows featuring international musicians.
While organisers have reduced their advance tickets to $10, they have also added new performers on the line-up.
The Jamaican musician is coming with his band and organisers have announced that the “Cheater’s Prayer” hitmaker will also be joined by his partner in the industry D-Major.
On the local line-up, in addition to Jah Prayzah, Winky D and Ninja Lipsy, there will be a sound-clash for male and female emcees.
Initially, the organisers had signed all-male dancehall sounds and they have now roped in female chanters that include Iron Lady, Spooky, DJ Teezy, Lyrical Base, Gully Side, DJ Spin and Lady Vicious.
The male sound clash will be led by Judgment Yard with the popular DJ Flevah and Etherton B doing what they know best.
They will host sounds that include Silverstone, Stone Love, Mighty Ducks, Fyah Links, Stan Splash, Digital One, Majestic 3, Bodyslam, Black Spider and Defy House.
They are likely to take dancehall and reggae music lovers on an exciting slot as they await the entrance of Chris Martin.
Chris Martin is basking in the glory of a recent achievement in Jamaica where he signed a big endorsement deal with KFC alongside Busy Signal.
It was a symbolic gesture for Chris Martin whose hit “I Am a Big Deal” is still making waves more than a year after its release.
KFC Jamaica launched its ‘2016 Big Deal’ campaign and Chris Martin and Busy Signal were called to collaborate again having just dropped their latest track “Steppin” together in March 2016. Both would work with producer Bambino to develop the song that would form the radio and accompanying television advertisement.
Although is in high spirits, Chris Martin will have to come on stage with force on Friday because Winky D has a history of outclassing international acts while Jah Prayzah is currently one of the best performers in the country.
Tickets for the show are available at all Red Rose salons, Coloursel Furniture shops and Sopranos Restaurant in Avondale.
