Fans vote

LONDON. — Floyd Mayweather has asked his boxing fans on Twitter to vote on whether his next fight should be against Amir Khan or Marcos Maidana. Khan signed a contract in December that put him in line for a possible super-fight with Mayweather this year, but the former Olympic silver medalist is still waiting to find out if he will face the unbeaten world light-middleweight champion.

Although a May showdown in Las Vegas was mooted for the British fighter, Mayweather (36) also has the option of taking on Argentina’s Maidana, who lost on points to Khan in 2011. And the pound-for-pound world No. 1 has sought the opinion of fans, writing on his Twitter account: “I’m going to let the fans vote. Tell me who I should fight next. Khan or Maidana?” — Sky Sports.
