Musician Farai Machingura is set to captivate audiences with his upcoming musical release, “StrangERs,” along with an accompanying music video, scheduled for release next month.

Produced by XXYYXX and Dae One, “StrangERs” incorporates an instrumental sample from the popular song “Child’s Play” by SZA and Chance The Rapper.

Farai shared that the song’s lyrics explore the intricacies of two individuals experiencing mutual attraction but are hindered by past emotional wounds.

“The lyrics follow two people that are attracted to each other, but past hurt is keeping them from making their thing, a thing,” he explained.

The music video for “StrangERs” follows a group of friends on a day trip away from the city. However, the storyline takes an unexpected turn when one character begins experiencing hallucinations after experimenting with drugs.

“Eventually, it turns out that the voice belongs to a red-haired lady who attacks him with an apple and lures him away from his friend group! And thus the story unfolds. The apple represents the first sin, the first couple there ever was.

“The biggest takeaway from the song and the video is to always go for what/who you desire because you never know what’s on the other side of it,” Farai emphasised.

“StrangERs” marks Farai’s 11th release since 2022.

Hailing from Mpopoma, Bulawayo, Farai is a rapper, record producer, and mix engineer who entered the music scene in 2014. Locally, he has collaborated with artistes such as Brintz, Swazy, Indigo Saint, BilliusTheMajestic, and other upcoming talents from South Africa and Botswana.
