Renowned radio personality Kelvin Sifelani is returning to the United Kingdom following a short stint with local radio station Star FM. The much-travelled Sifelani, popularly known as “The Soul Supreme S”, is set to leave the country early next week and his farewell party takes place at Dandaro Inn at the Showgrounds on Sunday afternoon.
Fellow DJs that include Tich Mataz will grace the event and bid their mate goodbye. The event would be part of the Old Skool sessions that have taken Dandaro Inn by storm.
Sifelani said although his stint at Star FM was short-lived, his first best working place would always be home but for now bigger opportunities had availed themselves abroad.
“I will always consider home to be the best place to be but when bigger opportunities knock one has to take a shot.
“My family interests are also back home so here and there I will be coming back but I hope better opportunities will soon come and I can settle here for good. I can say I’m already putting something in place to make my stay here permanent,” explained the talented disc jockey.
Management at Dandaro Inn said they are glad to have worked with Sifelani over the past few weeks since they launched their Old Skool weekends.
The joint’s manager Yasin Dhala said the DJ was instrumental in broadening their programme that culminated in the official launch of the restaurant yesterday.
“Dandaro Inn has just started growing and we are happy to have worked with people like Sifelani. He was instrumental in the introduction of Old Skool sessions which are now popular,” said Dhala.
“The joint has grown and we are happy to launch our restaurant in style. From this week we haved introduced wide range of trditional dishes which includes maguru ne matumbu, knuckle bones, hanga, tsuro, mbudzi, zvinyenze, madora, matemba and mazondo.
“This shows that we are growing and we need people that are dedicated like Sifelani to acheive our dreams. We wish him well on his new sojourn.”
