A leading agro-retail company, Farm and City Centre, has opened a branch in Gweru, its 36th in the country.
Due to the increased number of customers in the Midlands Province, Farm and City Centre, which offers retail agricultural inputs, building materials and general hardware, launched its third branch in Gweru on Saturday.
Operations manager for the southern region, Mr Cliff Mukumba said: “We have opened our new doors for the farmers in Gweru mainly because of the increased number of customers. We are just answering the call of our customers who have been loyal to our retail company and we also want to reduce the congestion at the two other shops, which are located at the light industries and the other one at Kudzanai bus terminus.”
Farm and City Centre has a strong relationship with its customers as it teaches them on different aspects on farming.
“We consider farming as a business and our customers, the farmers, should not encounter losses when they are using our products.
“Henceforth we have engaged in a system in which we teach our farmers on how to farm, use these products. Basically we educate them from veterinary products to farming products,” said Mr Mukumba.
The agro-retail company has relations with the leading seed companies such as K2, Panner, Seed-co as they work together in providing seed products for the farmers.
