Fashion, cars and love

As  couples continue to celebrate the month of love, Leddmark Motors will this evening throw a St Valentine’s Day themed fashion and car show.

Dubbed “Love meets Fashion and Cars”; the event will be held at the Leddmark Workshop in Graniteside in appreciation of the beauty of love in an elegant set up.  In an interview with The Herald Arts, event organiser Phinias Mushayi said the red carpet event is his way of showing appreciation for a fashion industry that is greatly underrated. “Our fashion industry has long been underrated. The event is us as Leddmark showing appreciation to our local designers; and what better way to do that than have them over for a celebration of love, and as people who deal with cars, they then easily fall in the mix,” he said.

The event will see Leddmark workshop being repurposed into an exquisite venue.

“Dinner tables, top drawer decorations, lights and flowers will do the magic. At least ten models will do a mini- catwalk, all wearing Tapfumaneyi Munhenga Coco’s designs,” he said.

Mushayi said he has also invited ordinary people apart from celebrities, fashionistas, musicians and designers to share the fashion experience.

“Unlike many other events where only fashionistas and fashion enthusiasts get to attend, we have invited our clients, friends and various other stakeholders most of whom are just ordinary people.

“Linking them up with fashion designers and fashionistas will also help our fashion industry as it will be exposing designers to a possible market and the ordinary people to exquisite clothing made locally,” he said.

Mushayi said afro-pop musician Bryan Kadengu will perform at the event.

“Bryan K will perform an acoustic set to entertain those attending our intimate evening,” he said.

He added that the best dressed couple will win US$1 000 and to be divided between the couple and their charity of their choice.

Leddmark plans to grow the event into one of the biggest fashion and Valentines celebration in the City.

Leddmark Motors is an auto body shop that specialises in panel beating, and spray painting among other auto repairs.
