The Herald Lifestyle fashion show dubbed, “Fashion Extravaganza and Exhibition” is now set to take place on June 22.
The event, which was scheduled to be held on May 25, will go on as planned with more designers and artistes confirming their participation.
It will be held at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, that it also a partner in the initiative. Other partners include the Fashion Council of Zimbabwe (FCoZ), Style Icon of Zimbabwe, Jive Zimbabwe, Ed-mar Beauty and Spa, Miss Universe Zimbabwe, 4 May International and Esteem Communications.
Some of the designers scheduled to participate include Joyce Chimanye (Zuvva), Tapfumaneyi Munenga (Coco brand), Ishmael Tsakatsa (Zarguesia), Jasper Mandizera (Ivhu Tribe), Dapper Kings, Hilz Couture, Charmaine Nziradzemhuka, Paz and Chivz, and Chenna Neni.
The line-up of performers on the day includes Mbeu, Eleana Makombe, Agga Nyabinde, Taffie, and Bernard Betera.
In an interview, Zimpapers public Relations and communications manager, Pauline Matanda, said; “We are still on course and I am happy that everything is now taking shape.
“The registration fee is US$50 for designers while those who want to exhibit will pay US$200.
“They can contact our team at Herald House for payment. African embassies that want to showcase their garments and exhibit will pay US$400.”
Matanda said those who want to attend the show will fork out US$20 while VIP tickets are US$50.
“Stakeholders and companies who want to take the front row seats for the fashion show are more than welcome, henceforth they will pay between US$100-US$1 000.”
Radio personality Becky K and Hollywood Lee will host the event while red carpet hosts will be announced this week.
The event will run under the theme, “Glitz and Glam Fashion Style.”
Meanwhile, designers and artistes have said they are geared up for the event.
Afro-fusion singer Mbeu said he was more than happy to take part in the show.
“This is a good programme and I can’t wait to perform as part of our corporate social responsibility. I will also sample some of my new songs. Fashion and music are intertwined,” he said.
Prominent designer Chimanye said she will use the opportunity to unveil her latest collection.
“Fashion shows have been rare and would like to applaud The Herald Lifestyle for coming up with such a concept. I am happy many designers are taking part as this brings variety to the event.”
Chimanye, who is also the chairperson of the Fashion Council of Zimbabwe, said she was delighted to partner with the organisers.
“We have a strong bond with The Herald Lifestyle and we are happy working with them. We will also be working on providing more designers and stylists for the event and also the fashion awards show on the day in conjunction with SIZA.”
