Fast & Furious 5: A stress reliever

tire-screech-ing entertainment, coloured with the smell of rubber, blazing guns and is in no way designed to stimulate your intellect.
But it won’t take away what’s left of your handful brain cells. Without hesitation, the action in Fast & Furious 5 is sure goose-bumpy, awesomely executed and fast-paced, and if you’re really eager for a dumb, breath-taking weekend stress reliever, this is it.
And it’s star-studded, what with the usual suspect Vin Diesel (Dom Toretto) and Paul Walker (Brian O’Conner). Ladies, this time you can look forward to salivating at a clean-shaven and heftily muscled Dwaye “The Rock” Johnson (DSS agent Luke Hobbs) who spots a goatee that elevates him to being fearsome and fearless.
A bulky Tyrese Gibson joins the team as well. I hear the ladies taking a deep breath, releasing it slowly and rolling their eyes.
I know you love beefy boys, fast cars and the muscled boys behind the steering wheel that live on the edge of death. I have you figured out, girls. Oh, and singer Ludacris makes a grand heist entrance.
Hey boys, this flick is action-packed and I know you’re ardent fans of furiously fast cars and that you’re convinced that one day you too will own a Ferrari, a Lambo or a Ford GT40 as in the case of Dom and his team of loose canons in Fast & Furious 5. Dream on, brother. Now go see the movie and learn how it’s done in the superficial world of reel.
It doesn’t make sense why information about US$100 million (and other dirty business deals) belonging to a crooked businessman, Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), would be stored in a computer chip inside the car (the Ford GT40). Dom, his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) and Brian steal this speedster from a train and the job goes wrong. The question is: why would a businessman, crooked or not, hide such valuable details inside a car, something that loses value and can be stolen?
The storyline is stupid but it suits the genre as I’ve said. I mean, Hobbs (Johnson) is a man of the law that has had several run-ins with Dom’s crew to a point of arresting them, yet he and colleague Elena Neves (Elena Pataky) combine forces with them so as to avenge his (Hobbs’) team that’s ambushed by Reyes’ men.
But what takes the cake in the far-fetched stakes as far as the plot goes is when Hobbs gives the Dom heist gang a 24-hour head start to flee from him, with Reyes’ mega loot.
Does Hobbs have a cut? Who’s fooling whom?
Fast & Furious 5 is already reaping profits in other world markets. You’re certainly going to buy tickets for you and your crew and, on top of that, I bet you’ll hire a DVD when it comes out. – ZA News.
