HARARE – Regional airline Fastjet says it will increase flights between the Harare and Victoria Falls route as it eyes an 85 percent growth on the route.
Fastjet intends to implement this through addition two frequencies effective July 02, 2018.
Earlier this year, Fastjet introduced additional flights on the same route.
“The additional flights will see the airline now serve the route with twice-daily frequency, six days a week, with the only exception on Saturdays where the schedule remains unchanged with one flight between the cities.
“Fastjet also released its on-time performance results for May this year, again achieving a 90 percent network aggregate.
“The additional flights between Harare and Victoria Falls equates to a 85% year-on-year growth on the route,” says Fastjet’s Hein Kaiser.
The airline indicated its commitment to serving the Zimbabwe market through provision of affordable air travel.
Last year Fastjet doubled the number of flights between Harare and Johannesburg as well as reintroduced thrice weekly frequencies between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg.
Currently, the airline operates 92 flights every week.
“Our red-eye flights between Harare and Dar es Salaam continue to enjoy popularity,” said Kaiser.
The carrier operates between Harare and Victoria Falls, Harare and Dar es Salaam and from Harare and Victoria Falls to Johannesburg in South Africa.
Its regional route network includes Tanzanian domestic routes from its Dar es Salaam base to Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, and Mwanza, and international routes from Tanzania to Lusaka in Zambia and Harare in Zimbabwe.
Fastjet began branded domestic flights in Mozambique (Operated by Solenta Aviation Mozambique) between Maputo and Beira, Nampula and Tete on 3 November 2017 and celebrated its second year of operations in Zimbabwe last year
