A misunderstanding over a vehicle storage fee ended in tragedy after a 36-year-old man allegedly punched the owner of the place where he had parked his vehicle for several months.

Tichaona Masibhera was punched once on the face and he died the following morning.

Police said Peter Boniface Mucheni went to the now late Masibhera’s place to collect his vehicle after leaving it there early this year following a mechanical fault.

Masibhera asked for storage fees from Mucheni and an altercation ensued.

Mucheni punched Masibhera once on the face and he fell unconscious.

He gained consciousness a few minutes later, before he started bleeding from the nose.

He was nursed and taken to his bedroom to rest.

However, Masibhera was found dead on his bed the following morning.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Norbert Muzondo confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to resolve their issues amicably.

“We continue to urge people to settle disputes amicably by engaging into peaceful dialogue or engaging third parties.

“Violence is not a solution, it can lead to disastrous consequences,” said Inspector Muzondo.
