THE father of a student, who suffered serious injuries at Msengezi High School, feels there is a cover-up to hide what led to his son being injured.
Everlisto Tsomeka says his son, Tawanda (15), was in great pain and cannot speak or eat since the incident.
He said he was called to collect his son, Tawanda (15), from school.
Tawnda had suffered injuries, including broken jaws, under unclear circumstances.
He said the school authorities appeared to be hiding something and owe him an explanation.
He said the school had also attempted to prevent him from filing a report with the police.
“I received a call from the boarding master, Maunze, on July 22, at around 10am, advising me to come and collect my son from school saying he had been injured.
“I instantly rushed to the school and my son was brought to me with his belongings and I was told to take him to hospital.
“I noticed that he had a cut on the lower lip, a wound below the chin and he also told me that his lower four teeth were shaking.
“I took my child to Norton Hospital where I was advised that a request for medical treatment was required before they could treat him, so I went back to ZRP Saruwe, where I filed a report.”
He added:
“Before I made the report, I called the school and they tried to stop me from making the report.
“What hurts me the most is that l still don’t know what happened to my child since no one from the school is saying anything.
“I understand that accidents happen, but the way the school is handling my son’s matter is suspicious and I feel that the school is definitely hiding something.”
