AMBITIOUS Premiership side FC Platinum have promised fireworks in their friendly match against bitter rivals Highlanders at Barbourfields tomorrow.
The match looks like a grudge tie as former FC Platinum players Charles Sibanda, Joel “Josta” Ngodzo and Welcome “Waruwa” Ndiweni have moved to Bosso.
They are likely to be unleashed against their former employers.
Ngodzo has traced his roots back to Bosso and feels that, in the familiar surroundings of his hometown, he will be able to find the spark in his game.
FC Platinum assistant coach, Masimba Dinyero, said they were still trying out combinations at the club.
“I know that there is going to be a test of character among the players themselves,” said Dinyero.
“As FC Platinum we are taking the match seriously as it will make us see who is mentally not prepared for the 2014 season.
“We are going to try new combinations and in our team nobody is guaranteed a place as we registered 30 players and each one of them has to fight for a place.”
FC Platinum are doing well during and they are yet to lose a match since they began their pre-season training.
They have impressed a number of their fans having accounted for ZPC Kariba 1-0 (away) and then drew 1-1 with Methembe Ndlovu’s Bantu Rovers.
They then cruised to victories over Triangle (1-0 at home), Chapungu (3-2 and 2-1 away) and claimed another 4-0 victory away at Triangle last Thursday.
Their new signings Tarisai Rukanda and Njabulo”JB” Ncube have been scoring at will and have left Lloyd Mutasa with a smile on his face as he looks to lift his first championship title as coach.
“I am impressed with Njabulo and Rukanda because they have been scoring at will, a thing we struggled to do last season,” said Dinyero.
“We have a much more improved strike-force. We are aware that this year every team is busy preparing well and there will be no easy games for us but we are ready for the challenge.”
FC Platinum have strengthened their team with Stephen Sibanda (Buffaloes) James Marufu, Walter Musona, Tatenda Dzumbunu,
Emmaculate”Gebbo” Mauni, Livingstone Gent, Godfrey Chisango and Wisdom Mutasa.
The team still has hard-running former Gunners striker Michelle Katsvairo, Donald Ngoma, Nelson Maziwisa and Obrey Chirwa.
An interesting match is on the cards with Bosso expected to field their new signings Felix Chindungwe, the exciting Kudakwashe Mahachi and Valentine Ndaba.
