FC Platinum face Stars in friendly

FC Platinum took over the leadership of the PSL after overtaking defending champions Motor Action following the arrival of coach Rahman Gumbo.
The former Zimbabwe international has guided the side to three victories and one draw since taking over at the Zvishavane side.
FC Platinum lead the table with 30 points from 15 games while Motor Action are second with 28 points from the same number of matches.
“We want to be the champions and we are not changing our focus.
“We are in the right direction and I am very happy with the team, technical department and the fans have achieved so far.
“We want to keep our players active before our next game and that is the reason why we have engaged Shooting Stars for a friendly match “said Thadson Zhou, the FC Platinum chairman.
The arrival of Gumbo has breathed new life into players like Lincolin Zvasiya and Norman Maroto and Thabani Kamusoko, just to name a few.
Maroto broke his duck in the match against Kiglon.
He also played very well against Masvingo United last week and the reigning Golden Boot winner looks poised make a strong show in the second half of the season.
Zvasiya is now commanding a first team jersey and is destined for greater heights. Shooting Stars are anchoring the log table, with 10 point from 15 games.
They have been hiring and firing coaches, with Patson Ndabambi the latest casualty.
They recently engaged former CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe as their technical advisor.
“We have managed to get the services of Blessing Mazoredze from Masvingo United. “We need to avoid relegation at all costs and we need to win about eight games and we will be away from the dreaded chop.
“I am very happy with the boys’ commitment and this friendly is to keep us in shape for our next encounter.
“I am confident that we are going to move away from relegation and I am also happy with the support I am getting from our technical advisor Lloyd Chitembwe,” said Tonderai Marume, the Wild Boys’ coach.
