FC Platinum hold victory parade

From Paul Mundandi in Zvishavane
FC Platinum yesterday used a FunBus, a first of its kind in Zimbabwe to parade their four trophies they won this season.
They had a procession from Zvishavane town to Mandava before proceeding to their fortress, Mandava Stadium.“It was a thank you to the community of Zvishavane for their support. We chose to do it in a different way by conducting a clean up exercise at Mandava long distance bus terminus. We’re going to continue doing this at the end of every season even if we don’t win anything,” said Dumisani Sisale the FC Platinum chairman.

As a professional team all the players were clad in their team regalia and walked half way from town before boarding the FunBus that had many motorists and fans stopping to catch a glimpse and some even made a U-turn to join the fun.

“Next season we will be playing in Africa and we’ve already confirmed our participation to the PSL and we hope to give a good performance as we will be representing Zimbabwe,’ said the soft spoken chairman.

FC Platinum won the Independence Cup, ZNA Commander Charities Trophy, Msipa Cup and the Chibuku Cup which won them the ticket to represent Zimbabwe in the Confederations Cup next year.

Norman Mapeza who joined the platinum miners in August transformed the team into a winning unit bringing with him a brand of passing football.

Mapeza also took part in the clean up campaign which attracted youngsters who had the chance to rub shoulders with their role models.
