Triangle …………………………..  .. 0FC PLATINUM moved up to eighth position on the log when they dismissed visiting Triangle in a Castle Lager Premier league match here yesterday.

The visitors remain rooted on 13th position besides being the team that has scored the highest number of goals having found the nets 16 times.

Two quick goals from FC Platinum defenders Qadr Amin in the 12th minute and Simon Shoko three minutes later was all the hosts needed to unsettle Triangle who walloped Buffaloes 5-1 last Wednesday. It was also a relief to coach Lloyd Mutasa who felt robbed in their last match against Dynamos when referee Ruzive Ruzive awarded a controversial penalty which saw DeMbare walk away with the three points on Wednesday.

It was Mutasa’s first ever biggest win since joining the platinum miners last season and the victory silenced his detractors at FC Platinum who were calling for his dismissal

A short corner kick from the left by Tatenda Mudehwe to Stephen Sibanda saw Mudehwe sending a perfect pass to Amin whose left footer whistled past Triangle goalkeeper Edmond Chimhini.

With the sugar-sugar boys still trying to find out what had hit them, the home side increased their tally through right back Shoko.
The pencil slim defender who had found the going tough under Tendai Chikuni overlapped on the right and exchanged passes with Michelle Katsvairo. Shoko then obliged with a right footer that Chimhini only collected from the back of the nets on the quarter of hour mark.

FC Platinum then won a free kick outside the box when captain Thabani Kamusoko was brought down. Sibanda took the responsibility and his free kick went past the Triangle wall and Chimhini who was a mere spectator in the 50th minute. It was Sibanda’s first goal since joining FC Platinum at the beginning of the season.

An on-fire Katsvairo added more trouble for the visitors in the 70th minute. The goal was courtesy of Donald Ngoma, who after being fed by Sibanda unselfishly laid the ball to the onrushing Katsvairo, whose first timer went past Chimhini and the visitors’ world collapsed.

Triangle’s best chance came in the 83rd minute when Richard Kawondera powered a shot that was parried for a corner by goalkeeper Petros Mhari which they failed to utilise.

Triangle paid heavily probably for keeping Zimbabwe national team player Pascal Manhanga on the bench as their midfield failed to click.

The host could have won five nil but an effort from Zambian Obrey Chirwa was ruled offside.
