IN-FORM ZIFA Eastern Region Division One side FC Wangu Mazodze claimed the Masvingo Derby bragging rights when they got the better of Masvingo United at Mucheke on Saturday.

The team, which is enjoying its second season in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One, got their solitary goal from midfielder Mac Sean Murambiwa in the second half.

Murambiwa was elated by the goal which made the difference.

“I am very happy with the result and we have managed to maintain our top post which is good for us.

“The Masvingo United game was tough. We went to half-time without a goal and after the second half we had another approach to the game which saw us getting a goal.

“The maximum points will go a long way in our challenge for promotion and I am happy that we worked as a team,” said Murambiwa.

The Kingdom boys, as FC Wangu Mazodze are affectionately known, are now leading the pack with 33 points.

They are ahead of former Premiership side Tenax.
