During his stay, Fadika will be focusing on financial management.
Fadika said ZOC was one of the best national Olympic Committees in Africa and there was a lot to learn from the local committee that could help them improve their organisation in Sierra Leone.
“I am here to look at their financial department and how they operate and how we can implement it in our NOC.
“The reason we chose the NOC of Zimbabwe is because they have good records and the preparing of their financial reports is very good. I hope I will have a better experience.
“Zimbabwe is the biggest NOC in Africa in terms of improvement. They are hardworking and their standard of performing is high.
“The NOC of Zimbabwe is always growing. Last time our secretary-general was here to learn and I am here to do the same,” added Fadika.
ZOC chief executive, Stanley Mutoya, said Fadika would be interacting with the ZOC organs during the two-week internship.
“He is here to find out how our systems, programmes and policies operate as far as finance and accounting is concerned. He will be looking at issues that have to do with auditing, financial management, financial reporting and accounting.
“He will also look at our structures and how we implement and report on programmes that are Olympic Solidarity funded.
“He will be focusing on financial management and see what they can adapt to their situation that relates to finance,” said Mutoya.
Mutoya said this showed the confidence invested in the committee by the International Olympic Committee.
“It’s a feather in our cap. It’s a huge vote of confidence and we feel challenged to remain performing,” said Mutoya.
“It is also a message that should be read by our national associations that we have a huge responsibility in Africa and we should perform.
“It is a demonstration of our core values which are professionalism, teamwork, honest effort and excellent.
“This is an opportunity to show that we are living those values. We feel motivated and acknowledged.”
Fadika, who arrived in the country on Wednesday, is scheduled to return to Sierra Leone on August 31.
