Feel it, it’s real, we’re the world’s number one tourist destination. . .GARDEN OF EDEN

NOW, you can call it the Garden of Eden.

We are the most beautiful country to visit in 2025 − ranked better than a country which attracted 17,4 million tourists last year.

Number one in the world!

How does that feel folks?

Like back in the days when we celebrated the heroics of Nick Price powering his way to be ranked the number one golfer in the world.

Or the days when we celebrated the heroic of Kirsty Coventry swimming her way to Olympic gold and the world championship gold medal.

Maybe, we are a country that was always going to be destined for gold and in gold.

It can’t be a coincidence that in the very year that we celebrated our Independence, and Bob Marley came here to provide the accompanying motion picture soundtrack, our women’s team won Olympic gold in hockey in Moscow.

There is something magical about us, even though the Warriors and the plumbers, disguised as coaches, who are always hired to guide them, keep doing their best to mess up our moos.

When you are lucky to be given one of the Seven Wonders of the World for custody, then you should know that you are, indeed, a blessed nation.

Yes, the Victoria Falls played a big part in getting us to the top but it’s not the only reason why we are the best destination to visit this year.

Number one in the world!

Better than Morocco, with all its sandy beaches and the Mediterranean coastline, with the North African country good enough to just make the top 10.

Better than South Africa, Cape Town and Durban combined, better than any other country in the world.

That’s huge and no wonder everyone is talking about us.

“If 2025 is the year of your long-awaited adventure, two African destinations Zimbabwe and Morocco are topping global travel charts,” wrote Ghanaian publication, the Accra Street Journal.

“According to the latest Travel Check-in Report by booking giant Kayak, the two nations have been ranked among the world’s best countries to visit in 2025, highlighting a resurgence of interest in culturally rich and visually stunning destinations.

“The ranking, which blends adventure, wellness, affordability, and slow-travel potential, places Zimbabwe at the very top of the global list and Morocco in sixth position making them the only African countries to break into the global top 10.

“Zimbabwe, crowned #1 on Kayak’s list, is drawing travelers with its rare combination of ancient history, iconic natural wonders, and a quietly booming urban scene:

  • Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world, continues to mesmerise visitors with its thunderous cascade and rainbow-filled mist.
  • Great Zimbabwe, with its towering stone ruins, remains a cultural symbol of Africa’s ancient empires.
  • The Eastern Highlands, with misty mountains and rolling tea estates, are increasingly marketed as a wellness escape for slow-travel enthusiasts.

“Interest is rising sharply: Kayak data shows flight searches to Bulawayo jumped 80% in 2024, while Harare rose 56% percent, signaling a renewed appetite for Zimbabwe’s hidden gems.”

The publication also noted why Morocco scored highly.“Morocco, ranked 6th globally, offers what Kayak describes as “a seamless blend of desert magic, mountain drama, and urban vibrance.”

  • In the Sahara, red dunes stretch endlessly under quiet starlit skies.
  • The Atlas Mountains attract hikers and wellness travelers, while valleys bloom with olive and argan groves.
  • Cities like Marrakech and Fez provide sensory overload with lantern-lit rooftops, buzzing souks, and traditional artisans keeping centuries-old crafts alive.
  • Chefchaouen, the “Blue City,” continues to captivate Instagram-era wanderers, while Essaouira’s Atlantic coast is a haven for surf and seafood lovers.

“Morocco welcomed a record 17.4 million tourists in 2024, making it Africa’s most visited country.

“Meanwhile, Marrakech saw average flight costs fall 5% compared to last summer, boosting its appeal as a best-value long-haul destination.”

The publication added: Kayak’s 2025 ranking reflects a shift in traveler priorities, combining authentic experiences with accessibility and affordability.

“As global tourism rebounds post-pandemic, destinations like Zimbabwe and Morocco are positioning themselves not just as holiday spots but as year-round lifestyle destinations.

“Zimbabwe topped the list due to its mix of cultural landmarks (Great Zimbabwe), iconic nature (Victoria Falls), and growing interest in its cities (Bulawayo and Harare).

“Zimbabwe is ideal for adventure and heritage travelers, while Morocco is perfect for those seeking a blend of culture, desert escapes, and city vibrance.”

Okay, let’s say someone will say this is an African publication and so it is probably biased towards Zimbabwe and Morocco.

But, what about Forbes, the global media company?

This is what one of the most authoritative magazines wrote about our phenomenal achievement.

“From golden plains where ancient stone cities rise to mossy fjords carved by millennia of ice, 2025 has unveiled a world-rich in texture think Zimbabwe’s thunderous gorges, Lithuania’s midsummer meadows and Sri Lanka’s jungle-wrapped railways.

“Soulful countries like South Korea invite quiet reflection amid temple-laced forests and volcanic island trails, while Morocco shimmers in desert hues and Norway gleams with waterfalls and glinting glaciers.

“To help narrow your search, I’ve spoken to experts from a world-leading travel site, Kayal, to choose its best countries to visit in 2025.

“Partly based on insights laid out in the company’s Travel Check-In report, this ranking also considers elements like opportunities for wellness travel, city jumping and low-intensity travel.

“Zimbabwe is a mosaic of rugged wild terrain and deep ancestral heritage where jagged granite outcrops rise above sun-scorched golden plains and skies stretch wide over rustling acacia groves.

“The ancient stone city of Great Zimbabwe stands as a powerful reminder of the country’s layered past, its dry-stone walls steeped in centuries-old history.

“Meanwhile, at Victoria Falls, the Zambezi crashes into thunderous gorges below sending mist into the air that often catches the sun in fleeting rainbows.

“The Eastern Highlands, however, offer a quieter scene: think cloud-covered slopes, winding hiking trails and pockets of mist-laced mountain stillness.”

This is something worth more than a billion dollars.
