AS a victim of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) photographer, Nyasha Gurure, has used her skills to shoot what she calls used to be a place she called home.
Gurure revealed how she was abused in her past relationship.
She said the picture shows what most women go through in abusive relationships.
The picture shows a women being beaten by his spouse who later apologies to her.
Nyasha said when she was abused, she thought it was love because her boyfriend would tell her that he was only being a caring person.
A part of the message, which the pictures carries, says:

“I probably hurt you but I don’t mean to.
“I don’t know what will be happening with me, it feels like something takes over.
“I promise to fight this and fight for us, I promise to change.” Speaking to H-Metro, Gurure said GBV was a very sensitive subject to her.
“As a victim of Gender-Based Violence, these pieces brought me into tears as I was working on them and expressing the real feeling I had in my past journey and life in a place I called home.
“The pain of hiding bruises from the community, and staying in the toxic environment for the sake of being called Mrs, yet missing peace.
“Some apologise and promise but never change.
“I had to express my pain through the lens and special thanks to the models, Nyaradzo and Tatenda, for boldly carrying this message to the world.
“We say no to Gender-Based Violence,” she said.
