FESTIVITIES have been lined up in the build-up to Saturday’s Chibuku Super Cup final at Barbourfields Stadium where Highlanders will square off with Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Road shows, to be conducted by a Bulawayo-based radio station will be rolled out as from Tuesday until the day of the match in a bid to excite the football fans in the City of Kings to turn out in their numbers on the day of the final.
Winners of this year’s Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Competition, Ezimnyama Dance Ensemble are expected to provide entertainment at the match venue.
No pre-match tickets will be sold as the Premier Soccer League has decided against that, with fans to pay for entry on the day of the match.
PSL communications and media liaison officer, Kudzai Bare indicated that fans will be able to purchase tickets at the gates using various payments methods.
“Tickets will be sold at the gate through the usual platforms including the tap card,’’ Bare said.
While this is the second Chibuku Cup final appearance for Ngezi Platinum, for Bosso this is their first presence in the decisive fixture of the country’s only all-inclusive rebranded club knock-out competition. Ngezi won the Chibuku Super Cup in their maiden season in the PSL in 2016 when they thumped FC Platinum 3-1 at Baobab Stadium.
Highlanders last appeared in a major cup final in 2013 when they beat How Mine to win the Mbada Diamonds Cup at Barbourfields. Tshilamoya did win the NetOne sponsored Easycall Cup in 2015 with a 1-0 victory over Chicken Inn.
