Khoza, who served as chairman of the 2010 Fifa World Cup Local Organising Committee, is already a member of the strategic committee convened by Blatter.
“This is a great honour for me and the PSL to be asked by the world governing body to serve on the football committee,” Khoza said yesterday.
“It is a motion of confidence in the PSL by Fifa. Our league continues to grow as one of the top premier leagues in the world.
“I will make a contribution and also gain experience by serving on the committee where I will be working with people of illustrious careers in football.
“I appreciate this recognition by Fifa,” said Khoza, who earlier this year was included in the Caf club football committee.
The Fifa committee will have its first meeting on January 9.
On the Fifa strategic committee, the influential Khoza is sitting there as one of the representatives from the premier leagues of the world.
Other Africans on the committee are Caf president Issa Hayatou from Cameroon, Mohamed Raouraoua of Algeria and Ivory Coast’s Jacques Anouma.
The other South African who serves on the Fifa sub-committee is legend Jomo Sono (club football).
Former Bafana Bafana medico Victor Ramathesele is on the medical committee.
Another South African on the Fifa sub-committees is former Safa chief executive Raymond Hack who is in the disciplinary committee.
Hack is also chairman of Caf’s disciplinary committee.
Johannesburg-based Football Association of Zambia president Kalusha Bwalya is on the Fifa technical and development sub-committee. — Sowetan.
