FIFA president to tour Botswana

FIFA president Gianni Infantino will undertake an official visit to Botswana next month, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) has announced.

A statement from the association says he will be in the country from November 9 to 11. The high-level visit reaffirms FIFA’s steadfast commitment to the development and growth of football in Botswana and across the African continent.

“During his stay, president Infantino is expected to engage with relevant stakeholders, including the government of Botswana and the BFA, to deliberate on football development programmes, capacity building initiatives and areas of strategic collaboration,” the statement says.

Government has been notified of Infantino’s visit and that a local organising committee will be constituted. – mmegi.bw
