“The Reflection”, a film documentary that explores President Mugabe’s steadfastness and uncompromising stance in his beliefs of black advancement in the face of stiff opposition, will be on local screens soon.

In an interview, the film’s producer, Tina Sakala, said the story is about a man who has penetrated national and racial groups worldwide and has been embraced by young people and old at every economic, social and educational level because of his zeal as a messenger of freedom, unity and development.

“The tribute will feature a candid history of how President R. G. Mugabe worked so tirelessly to break us free from the jaws of colonisation,” she said.

“It will bring about the challenges, the adversities and the cruelty he encountered during the process.

“There will be also be special interviews from different people thanking the President for a job well done.”

Sakala said the tribute will serve as a memento and it is designed to thank the President for taking the lead and for being the central key figure in all political, social and economic achievements.

The 25-year-old producer said she designed the documentary to help young people understand how the President of Zimbabwe worked tirelessly, sacrificed his life, time and resources to the advancement of black people.

“Today the media is abusing the name of our President giving the wrong notions to our generation and generations to come.

“This film will help our generation and generations to come to have a clear understanding about this great statesman and how much he sacrificed for this nation.

‘’We can’t leave some other people say or write rubbish about our President while we lie idle as if we do not have the facts.

“Work on the project has begun but we are facing finacial challenges, so we are also appealing to organisations and individuals who want to take part as sponsors to come aboard.”

Sakala said they should have premiered the tribute film, but were hamstrung by financial and other challenges.
