Fire destroys property in Mbare

Property and groceries worth thousands of dollars were early on Saturday morning destroyed in a fire at Zimbabwe Butchery and Enterprises at Mbare Musika.Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tadius Chibanda said the exact value of the goods destroyed was yet to be worked out.

“Two policemen who were on patrol saw smoke coming out of the shop and went to investigate. They discovered that the shop had caught fire,” he said.

The patrolling police alerted the Harare City Fire Brigade. Insp Chibanda said the cause of the fire was still unknown.
