A Harare man committed suicide just before the New Year by hanging himself on the roof trusses in his bedroom, reportedly over financial problems.Harare Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Chibanda said as Pardon Mburundu (26) of Glen View 3 was last seen by a friend on December 30 when he was complaining about having financial problems and a terrible headache.
According to police reports, Mburundu’s body was found yesterday by a fellow tenant at the house where he lived. It is reported that while sweeping the yard, the woman smelt a strong odour coming from Mburundu’s bedroom and she decided to investigate.
The woman peeped through the window and saw Mburundu hanging from the roof trusses with an electric cable around his neck.
The matter was reported at Glen View Police Station and officers attended the scene. They took Mburundu’s body to Harare Hospital for a post-mortem.
