HIGH-riding Triangle FC gaffer Kelvin Kaindu has promised fireworks when his side hosts Whawha FC at Gibbo Stadium tomorrow. The match, which promises to be a thriller, comes after the two teams had mixed fortunes during mid-week games.
Triangle ground a draw away at log leaders Chicken inn in Bulawayo while Whawha will be buoyed by a surprise 1-0 victory over defending champions Dynamos at Ascot Stadium in Gweru to hand the Glamour Boys their second defeat in a row.
DeMbare were clobbered 3-0 by an impressive Chicken Inn on their home turf last weekend, a result that will remain etched in their supporters’ minds.
The ‘Sugar Sugar’ boys, who have not yet lost a match at home this season, are expected to continue with their fairy tale run and Kaindu is confident that he will again leave home supporters smiling with a victory.
Speaking to Chronicle Sport, Kaindu was bubbling with confidence although he bemoaned the expected absence of some of his key players.
“We picked a number of injuries during the Chicken Inn match. Two of our players sustained serious injuries. Richard Kawondera is expected to go for an X ray. The other one is Hilary Bakacheza but he has to pass a late fitness test,” said Kaindu.
He also said a number of his regular players, defenders Jimmy Dzingai, Jimmy Tigere, Charles Rukwanhi and goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu sustained minor injuries but might feature during the game.
“We aren’t expecting much, we’ll go into the match cautiously since we’re playing a side which defeated the defending champions this week. We’ll treat their visit seriously and we hope to deliver,” said Kaindu.
Whawha mentor Lloyd ‘Samaita’ Mutasa said he was looking forward to a big game and promised to continue with their fine run.
“Obvious this is another big game for us as we’re playing against Triangle who are doing well under Kaindu. We’re preparing just like any other match and we hope to deliver the best in Triangle,” said Mutasa.
