THATHILE Investments (Private) Limited has approached the energy regulatory authority Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) for a license to set up a 4,4 megawatts solar plant for its own consumption in Bubi district in Matabeleland North province.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) said the photovoltaic plant will be connected to the grid through a 33kv feeder from Turk 132/88/33kv substation.
“Notice is hereby issued in terms of section 4(3) of the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations, 2008 published in Statutory Instrument 103 of 2008 that the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has received an application from Thathile Investments (Private) Limited to construct, own, operate and maintain a 4,4 MW solar photovoltaic plant for own consumption at Turk Mine, Bubi District Matabeleland North Province,” reads a statement from the energy regulatory authority.
“The license application by Turk Mine was done in terms of the provisions of Sections 42 and 46 of the Electricity Act (Chapter 13:19).
“Any person desiring to make representations on this application for a generation license as advertised may, within 14 days from the last day of this publication, which expires on 1st August 2023, lodge a written representation with Zera whose offices are at 45 Samora Machel Avenue, 14th Floor Century Towers, Harare.”
“Any objections or representations received after 1st August 2023, shall not be considered by the Authority.” -@SikhulekelaniM1
