BULILIMA is finally getting its first-ever tarred road, with construction now in full swing along the Plumtree-Dombodema Road.

The 10km stretch will run from Plumtree town to just past Tsambani shops at Makwa River, Village 28.

Once complete, the road will ease congestion and boost trade as it links directly to Botswana through the busy Maitengwe Border Post.

When B-Metro visited on Thursday, construction vehicles were hard at work, laying the foundation for what locals are calling a “game-changer.”

“This road has been a nightmare for years. Finally, we’ll have smooth travel,” said one excited resident.

A Transport Ministry official revealed that Minister Felix Mhona is expected to tour the project site in the first week of October.
